Vulcan originated, structured, and closed this transaction in 2003 as a purchase of Duke Inc.’s offshore businesses. The company is an offshore exploration and production company with operations located in the Gulf of Mexico.

Triton Coal Company, LLC
In 1998, Vulcan acquired Triton Coal Company, a premier coal producer located in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin and containing the United States’ most environmentally friendly coal reserves. Vulcan built this coal producer into the 7th largest producer in the U.S. and ultimately sold the company to Arch Coal, Inc. in 2004.

Laserline - Vulcan Energy Leasing, LLC
In 2004, Vulcan created a joint venture with Laserline Leasing, a major lease hold company. Laserline-Vulcan Energy Leasing is engaged in the sale and lease of large electrical power systems worldwide.

North Carolina Power Holdings, LLC (NCPH)
In 2003, Vulcan acquired NCPH, a company consisting of coal-fired power plants in the Atlantic coast region. The plants currently utilize coal as well as tire-derived fuel to generate steam and electricity.

Vulcan Amps, LLC
In 2002, Vulcan led an investment team that acquired select power plant assets from Enron. Vulcan Advanced Mobile Power Systems (AMPS) manufactures some of the world’s largest portable power generators and were the first new post-war power plants installed in Iraq.

Vulcan Coal Partners, LP
In 2006, Vulcan created its newest coal company when it purchased assets and mining equipment in Central Appalachia (Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky). Currently, it holds over 26 million tons of coal reserves, with pending agreements to add 15 million additional tons before mid-year 2007.

Vulcan Energy Solutions, LLC (VES)
Created in 2003, Vulcan Energy Solutions provides power plant expertise and services that include operation and maintenance for several types of power plants including construction, on-site testing, startup commissioning, field acceptance, repair and reconstruction, and electrical and mechanical engineering support.

Vulcan Energy of Canada, LTD.
In 2001, Vulcan’s portfolio company aquired over 70,000 acres of Canadian coal bed methane reserves with over 1.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Vulcan’s portfolio company for this investment is in the process of exploiting this massive reserve through the drilling of over 500 wells and completion of the gathering systems.

Vulcan Energy International, LLC
Created in 2003, Vulcan Energy International provides power plant solutions and services to customers world-wide. VEI’s international work includes the installation, set-up, commission- ing, maintenance and operation of electric power plants using multiple fuels (natural gas, LNG, CNG, LPG, CBM, LPFO, Diesel, Bio-fuels, etc). VEI also provides fuel analysis, delivery and distribution for power facilities. VEI offers clients delivery of different types of power plant services including construction, on-site testing, startup commissioning, field acceptance, repair and reconstruction, and electrical and mechanical engineering. VEI is active in numerous sites world-wide.

Vulcan Water Services, LLC
Vulcan Water Services, LLC offers clients two distinct products and services: 1. The delivery of mobile water filtration and mobile water cleaning systems world-wide and 2. Super Oxygenation Technology (“SuperOx”) with the Surface Tension Reduction Technology (“STR”) which dramatically reduces the costs and increases the efficiency, effectiveness, and capacity of industrial, commercial, and municipal waste water facilities. VWS’s delivers mobile water cleaning systems for power facilities, industrial facilities and residential communities. VWS delivers these systems globally in to locations ranging from inner city locations, to industrial locations to rural outposts. VWS’s SuperOx and STR systems are available to existing wastewater facilities or new facilities that are state-of-the-art in cleaning and processing wastewater to world-wide customers. VWS’s Super Ox System on existing Water systems offers proved reduction (50% to 75%) of energy expense to operate waste water treatment systems and a 20% reduction in the amount of time required for wastewater to reach the desired level of purification. VWS allows systems to meet UN and World bank efforts to promote energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions at wastewater treatment plants Both of VWS’s system offer numerous effective applications for water treatment including the industrial, agriculture, construction, concrete, and reverse osmosis (seawater desalination) industries.

Vulcan Water Resources, LTD
Vulcan Water Resources provides select international customers with specific water engineering services and products. These services represent the latest in clean water technology and waste water treatment. VWR provides these solutions to specific customers seeking innovative and direct products and services that provide clean water to communities. VWR delivers its clean water solutions to customers world-wide.
